Staff Physical Therapist

Sean Maxwell received a Bachelor of Science degree in Rehabilitation Science from the University of Pittsburgh. He then went on to earn his Doctorate in Physical Therapy and Masters in Clinical Anatomy from the University of Delaware. He then continued at the University of Delaware to complete an Orthopedic Residency and became certified through the American Board of Physical Therapy & Fellowship Education (ABPTRFE) as an Orthopedic Specialist. During his residency, Sean was able to develop advanced competencies in the general orthopedic population with mentors that were able to refine the clinical reasoning process to prevent, treat, and rehabilitate injuries in a wide spectrum of patients. Sean was also able to spend time in the operating room with local orthopedic surgeons to develop an understanding of how procedures are performed and the clinical reasoning for when they are indicated. He also participated as a teaching assistant for the University of Delaware physical therapy program in musculoskeletal and orthopedic classes, and he gave lectures on the management of TMJ pain.

Sean then went on to practice at a sports and orthopedic clinic in Baltimore where he gained valuable experience treating a variety of different populations and attained further certifications in spinal manipulation and dry needling. Sean also led a program that was designed to provide physical and therapy and strength and conditioning services to the A-10 fighter pilots of the 104th fighter squadron in Maryland.

Sean enjoys spending his free time running, swimming, biking, golfing, and playing men’s league baseball.
