Staff Physical Therapist Assistant
Katie Shields is a physical therapist assistant at Premier Physical Therapy and Sports Performance. She is a Florida native, also spending part of her life in Aiken, South Carolina. She moved north in 2010 and has shared time between Maryland and Delaware since. She graduated with an Associate of Science in Biology from Cecil College in 2019, where she competed on the women's soccer and basketball teams. She then went on to complete her Bachelor of Science in Exercise Science from Wesley College in May 2021, where she also continued to play on the women's soccer team. Most recently, Katie recently graduated with an Associate of Applied Science in Physical Therapist Assistant from Delaware Tech in May 2024.
Katie began her journey with Premier Physical Therapy during her time at Wesley College. She spent time completing observation hours in our Dover clinic, before transferring to our Middletown clinic to complete her full-time internship prior to graduating. Following graduation, Katie worked as an exercise technician and front desk assistant in our Middletown office from 2021-2023.
On the weekends and in her free time, Katie enjoys staying active by continuing to play soccer recreationally, as well as riding her horse, Q, and playing with her corgi, Louie. She looks forward to returning to the Premier family and assisting her patients in reaching their goals!
