Athletic Trainer for Middletown High School
Colleen Kelley ATC is the Head Athletic Trainer at Premier Physical Therapy and Sports Performance, serving Middletown High School. Mrs. Kelly also teaches in the allied health pathway at Middletown High School. Her courses include sports medicine, medical technology, and allied health. She supervises student athletic trainers as they complete their clinical hours in the athletic training room and on the athletic field.
Mrs. Kelley is a graduate of St. Elizabeth High School where she first developed an interest in the field of sports medicine. She holds a Masters of Art in Teaching and a Bachelor of Science in Sports Medicine from Wesley College. She is also a certified instructor with the American Heart Association and an active, volunteer member with the American Lung Association anti-tobacco organization.
During her time at Middletown High School, the athletic training program has been nationally recognized as a 1st Team Safe Sports School. This award goes to schools that have gone above and beyond to help ensure the safety of their student athletes
Prior to joining Premier, Mrs. Kelley was an athletic trainer, teacher, and coach at Caesar Rodney High School in Camden, DE. In her time there, she created and wrote the curriculum for an advanced sports medicine class in which seniors could spend time working in the athletic training room and various PT clinics in the area.
She has coached many athletic teams in the past. She has coached young girls from ages 12-18 in both basketball and softball. She has helped organize and run softball clinics for young athletes as well as teach private pitching lessons.
Mrs. Kelley has a passion for helping young athletes return to the field of play. She enjoys the opportunity of working with all different kinds of athletes and watching them return and compete at a high level following an injury.
Colleen and her husband, Patrick, reside in the MOT area with their two children, Brayden and Abigail.
