Staff Physical Therapist
Brian Winkler PT, DPT, ATC, MS is a staff physical therapist at Premier Physical Therapy and Sports Performance. He is originally from Basking Ridge, New Jersey where he played catcher on his high school baseball team; however his family has since relocated to the Delaware beaches.
Brian attended the University of Delaware, graduated in 2016 with his Bachelor of Science in Athletic Training, and went on to pursue his Doctorate of Physical Therapy from University of Delaware, graduating in 2018. Along the way, Brian earned his Masters of Science in Anatomy and Clinical Health Science in 2017, also from University of Delaware, investigating neural injuries associated with posterolateral corner injuries to the knee. Throughout his tenure at the University of Delaware, Brian had the opportunity to work with a variety of patient populations, including professional and collegiate athletes, general orthopedic conditions and patients with neurological conditions. Brian also completed 2 summer internships with the Seattle Seahawks as an NFL student intern in 2014 and 2015, gaining insight into rehabilitation of professional athletes and providing on-field game coverage for Seahawks preseason games. Brian's clinical interests include post-operative rehabilitation, rehabilitation of overhead athletes, and temporomandibular joint (TMJ) therapy. Brian also enjoys teaching and is looking forward to being a clinical instructor for physical therapy and athletic training students.
Brian resides in Wilmington with his wife, Molly. He enjoys working on home improvement projects, traveling (especially to the beach!), staying active, exercising and visiting with family and friends. During periods of down-time, Brian loves to watch sports and is an avid fan of the Nationals, the Jets and the Delaware Fightin' Blue Hens!
