Appoquinimink High School
Samantha Markland currently serves as a Certified Athletic Trainer at Appoquinimink High School. Sam obtained both a Bachelor of Science Degree in Sports Health in 2022 and a Master of Science Degree in Athletic Training in 2023 from the University of Delaware. She has gained a variety of experience through clinical rotations with UD Men's Soccer, UD Football, West Chester University Gymnastics and Football, and more.
In addition, Sam has completed a six-week NFL Summer Internship with the Houston Texans in 2023 where she was able to learn more about sports medicine and sports performance at the highest level as well as develop lifelong professional connections.
Sam is originally from Connecticut but has recently made the move to Delaware. Sam was a 17-year competitive gymnast with national recognition and went onto serve as the President of the club gymnastics team at UD. Outside of athletic training, Sam enjoys going to the beach, surf fishing, traveling, and spending time with friends and family.
