Staff Physical Therapist
Matt is a native of Williamsport, PA and joins Premier Physical Therapy & Sports Performance as a physical therapist. He attended Elizabethtown College where he studied Biology and worked as an Athletic Training Aide. After graduation he earned his Doctorate of Physical Therapy from Thomas Jefferson University in Philadelphia, PA.
In pursuit of clinical excellence, Matt furthered his education by participating in an intense thirteen-month Orthopedic Residency Program at Drexel University with hope to become a Board-Certified Orthopedic Specialist. A residency program is designed to “advance significantly the physical therapist’s preparation as a provider of patient care services in the defined area of clinical practice.” During residency, Matt received extensive mentorship from multiple board-certified orthopedic specialists and experts in the areas of chronic pain, running athletes, osteoarthritis, sports-related injuries, concussion management, neck pain, back pain, and post-operative orthopedic management. Matt was fortunate to work closely with Division 1 Athletes at Drexel and served as a PT liaison for the Athletic Training room. He is excited to bring his knowledge to the team at Premier PTSP, but also continue to learn from everyone.
Outside of working directly with patient-clients, Matt is passionate about teaching current physical therapy students, both in the clinic and in the classroom. He serves as a lab assistant/adjunct-faculty for Thomas Jefferson University and will continue looking for chances to engage with students and help them learn.
When not working, Matt enjoys frequent physical activity and being outside. He spends much of his free-time hiking, mountain biking, lifting weights, running, snowboarding, playing soccer, or going to the beach. Recently he has rekindled his relationship with golf and is working rather diligently to hone the craft. Matt loves learning new things and regularly listens to podcasts or audiobooks. He also really enjoys cooking and loves trying new dishes, but hates following recipes. He is thrilled to move to Delaware and join the Premier PTSP team!
